About Saint Ambrose School
St. Ambrose School is a Roman Catholic School affiliated with the Archdiocese of Washington, DC. The school is located in the town of Cheverly, MD in Prince George’s County. St. Ambrose is located just 2 miles from the NE border of the District of Columbia. Cheverly is easily accessed by Rt. 50 or the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.
Grade Levels: Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Subjects: Religion, Language Arts, Mathematics*, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Computers, Foreign Language, Music and Art. *Algebra is taught as a subject for many eighth graders.

Most families enrolled at St. Ambrose School come from a variety of areas in Prince George’s County including: Cheverly, Bowie, Mitchellville, Upper Marlboro, Glenn Dale, and Bladensburg.
After St. Ambrose:
St. Ambrose School graduates are extremely well qualified for a rigorous high school education. Over 90% of our graduates are accepted into their top choice for private schools. Our graduates have attended high schools such as Gonzaga College, St. John’s College, Bishop McNamara, Elizabeth Seton, DeMatha, St. Vincent Palotti, Georgetown Visitation, Good Counsel, St. Anselm’s, Archbishop Spalding (Archdiocese of Baltimore), Paul VI (Diocese of Arlington) and Maret School.
Students also test into the selective Science and Technology programs in the Prince George’s County Public Schools at Eleanor Roosevelt and C.H. Flowers High Schools.
