Eternal and infinite is the great treasure we hold in our hearts. The treasure is our faith in a God who loves us unconditionally. Think of the person or people who first introduced you to the wonders of God. They gave you an invaluable gift. Every Christian parent, friend, and neighbor has the privilege and obligation to share that gift of faith that has been passed on to them. While we all share that privilege, some people dedicate time every week to helping the young people of our parish come to a deeper relationship with Jesus the Christ. All of this is an introduction to say thank you also to all of our dedicated catechists, coordinators, small group leaders, and aides who make our religious education program possible.
I am particularly grateful for the new middle youth religious education program that began this year. The format is more interactive and discussion, which is more appealing to middle school students. I believe the new program effectively meets the expressed needs of our community and the developmental level of our middle school aged youth. It took dedication from many parishioners to make it a success.
The greatest gift we can give to others is to introduce them to the God who loves them infinitely. Thank you so much to all of our devoted volunteers in the religious education program for the way in which they give that gift to our young people!! Please pray that the children of our parish will continue to experience this great gift.
