Please welcome Fr. Eloy Romero-Rojas to Saint Ambrose Parish! At Masses next weekend (October 27-28), Fr.Romero-Rojas, who has visited us a couple times over the last five years will give us an update on the incredible work of Cross Catholic Outreach and ask for your cooperation in its mission to serve the poor. On two weekends each year (typically May and October), I invite priests to Saint Ambrose to inform us about how the Catholic Church is extending the love of God to the poorest people throughout the world. In addition to our work with our sister parish in San Agustin, El Salvador, supporting foreign missions provides us with an opportunity to be spiritually connected to our brothers and sisters throughout the world.
Here's a little background on Fr. Romero-Rojas--he was born in Caracas, Venezuela and ordained to the priesthood on March 17, 2000 in Venezuela. Fr. Romero-Rojas went to the military Seminary of Bogota, Colombia from 1995 to 1999. He obtained degrees in theology and international affairs from the Pontifical University Xaveriana in Bogota. Since 2003, Fr. Rojas has been preaching in parishes across the United States raising funds for the down-trodden and the neglected in the developing world. He not only brings his experienced bilingual preaching skills to Cross Catholic Outreach but also his dedication to God's most precious lambs--the poor! Please welcome him graciously.
