A couple weeks ago I spoke with you about the possibility of transforming our abandoned convent into a home for three members of the religious order called The Brothers of Charity and transitional housing for six or seven veterans. As I have said to everyone involved, we cannot embark upon this endeavor without widespread community support. I have already received a lot of feedback, and I thank you for your input. While I have received a tremendous number of positive comments, many school families have expressed concerns regarding the proximity of the proposed home to the school. If the Brothers of Charity and I are able to adequately address the concerns and build positive consensus, we will move forward with the dialogue and schedule an open meeting in February where we can provide additional information.
