It's a pleasure and a blessing for me to join the St. Ambrose community as Director of Religious Education. I will also be director at St. Mary's in Landover Hills. I am originally from El Salvador and moved to the United States when I was eleven years old. I did all of my schooling in the North Carolina area, and I thought I was very southern, but according to a quiz I took on Facebook I am only 61% southern! I suppose it's all that DC metropolitan area influence on me. I have come to cherish my time in this area since I moved here a couple of years ago.
I can tell you that in the few days I have been at St. Ambrose I've felt blessed to join a welcoming and active community. I am thankful to God and Fr. Kennedy of course, for giving me this opportunity. I have heard it said before that if one starts with gratitude all one sees is grace, and I am certain that being here with you I will become more and more aware of how good God is and how blessed we are. And that is why I am happy to be here. As Pope Francis says, Christ fills us with joy. I hope to explore with you that Christ loves us and fills us with many blessings and joy.
Please know that I am here to serve you and explore together how we can come closer to Christ and be ever mindful of his presence and joy through the various faith formation programs.
